Road Safety Song Contest this weekend
07 May 2011
Preparations for the Road Safety Song Contest at Yuendumu this Sunday (May 8) are well underway. The Yuendumu School is putting on the sausage sizzle, Warlukurlangu Artists will have a stall, the newly formed Yuendumu Emergency Services group will be showing off their trailer, Hector the Road Safety Cat is getting ready for handing out road safety bracelets, and the PAW Media team is working hard to get the venue ready.
The Road Safety Song Contest is an initiative of the NT Government, with operational support provided by ArtBack NT. The Yuendumu event is the first time that the contest has been run outside of the Barunga Festival, and recognises the importance of road safety campaigns in Central Australia.
The Yuendumu event will be broadcast live over the PAW Radio Network, as well as videoed for our local PAW TV News. Watch out for the Yuendumu Road Safety CD that will be released later this year.
