2015 - 17th National Remote Indigenous Media Festival

24 September 2015

8PAW Radio will move it site to Lajamanu from 27th September till 2nd October for the 2015 - 17th National Remote Indigenous Media Festival.

PAW Media and Communication is extremely proud to be hosting this festival in Lajamanu.

Each year the National Remote Indigenous Media Festival brings together community broadcasters and media producers from across remote Australia. A different RIMO (Remote Indigenous Media Organisation) hosts the Festival each year and with location alternating between coastal to desert communities.

The Festival is a key part in the development of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander media practitioners and aims to strengthen the media industry in remote communities. It creates opportunities for trainees, practitioners and people interested in remote media from all regions to meet with industry stakeholders, share stories, grow their skills and receive recognition and encouragement for their work.

A highlight of the Festival is the Remote Media Awards Ceremony where individuals from RIMO networks and remote communities are recognised for their achievements and work keeping remote Indigenous media strong.
