Dennis Charles recognised at NT Young Achiever Awards

Congratulations to PAW Media Worker Dennis Charles who was awarded two finalist certificates at the recent NT Young Achiever Awards held in Darwin. Despite strong competition, Dennis succeeded in reaching the top three of the Territory-wide Awards in two categories. He missed out on a trophy on the night, but said, 'It [was] wonderful to come here and see all these other young people achieving...and not sitting at home in front of the TV'. Curtis Fry awarded certificate for radio skills

Curtis Fry has been awarded a certificate recognising his skills in live radio broadcasting. Curtis was successful in completing units of the Certificate II in Media (Broadcasting), undertaken through a partnership between Radio Adelaide and PAW Media. Curtis is a long-time broadcaster and integral part of PAW Radio and the community, so it is great to see his hard work being rewarded. CONTINUED »
Stockmen documentary to air on ABC over Easter

PAW Media's award-winning radio documentary, 'The Coming of the Cattle' will air on ABC Radio National this Easter. The program can be heard on Awaye! at 6pm on Saturday 7th April. It will be re-broadcast on April 10th at 9pm, and will also be available to listen to via the Awaye! page on the ABC Radio website. This important documentary tells the largely unknown story of the role of Aboriginal stockmen in Central Australia in the 20th century, in their own words. CONTINUED »
NT Young Achiever Awards 2012

PAW Media is proud to announce that media worker Dennis Charles is a finalist in the NT Young Achiever Awards 2012. Dennis was nominated for his dedication to radio and video projects in his home community of Yuelamu, and surrounding communities. In 2011 he worked extensively on PAW Media's Stockmen radio documentary and many other projects. The NT Young Achiever Awards will be presented in Darwin on April 14th. CONTINUED »
PAW Media's new radio documentary wins Best Radio Documentary Award

"The coming of the cattle" has won the Best Radio Documentary Award at the 13th Remote Indigenous Media Festival. The Festival was held this year at Umuwa, South Australia from 3-7 October. Jason Ramp, well-known Central Australia filmmaker, presented the award, commenting on the high quality of the documentary and the importance of capturing the stories of the old people who had worked on the cattle stations.
