NITV and SBS to start discussions on NITV merging into SBS

The communications minister, Senator Steven Conroy, has called on SBS and National Indigenous Television (NITV) to discuss how an indigenous television service could be established as SBS's third digital channel. This service would be a replacement for NITV's current stand-alone channel, which is currently only available via pay television, free-to-air satellite, and in some remote areas, terrestrially. Francis Kelly receives the 2011 Tudawali Award

Francis Jupurrurla Kelly, a key figure in the development of Warlpiri Media Association has been awarded the 2011 Tudawali Award at the Message Sticks Film Festival at the Sydney Opera House tonight. The award is given to an individual who has made a significant contribution to the development of Indigenous media or the creation of a landmark body of work in film and television. Francis is recognised for his roles in films such as Bush Mechanics and Aboriginal Rules and was awarded an AFI Award for Bush Mechanics in 1999. PAW staff member Bruno Wilson selected as Chair for the NT Youth Minister's Round Table of Young Territorians

Bruno Jupurrurla Wilson, one of PAW Media's talented video workers has been selected as Chairperson on the NT Youth Minister's Round Table of Young Territorians. Bruno who is mixing law studies with his media work, is passionate about the need for yapa involvement in government policy and decision making.
