Desert Mulga has winning song for road safety

The Road Safety Song Contest at Yuendumu had everyone smiling and dancing as local and visiting bands played their best to be in the competition for cash prizes.

The day started with light drizzle, but by the time the concert finished the sun had come out as children desert danced to the driving beats of desert rock.

The prizes for the day were:

  • Best overall song - Desert Mulga Band.

  • Equal 2nd prizes - Tableland Drifters and Yaturlu Yaturlu
  • Best school performance - Yuendumu School
