Nyarrpara-kurra na Yani? (Show me the way) : excerpt only

16 April 2011

Excerpt of track from the Aboriginal Rules soundtrack CD, available from our online shop.

CD Producer's notes: "Recorded at different locations around Nyirrpi with lots of people dropping in and out and checking out what was going on. One of the places we recorded was Gordon's front porch where his pet camel 'Gypsy' kept trying to join in. Sometimes after working in the day, Gordon would have a concert at night on his porch and everyone would dance and sing along. Lindsay, who used to coach the Yuendumu Magpies, sang backing vocals in the BRACS room after we moved the laptop and mics there. One day Gordon and I went out to Karrku and he told me there were still people who hadn't come out of the desert yet. You can hear it as the soundtrack to the football film montage in the DVD extras." (Alex Jarvis)
